Strengthen the safety and health management of contractors

Contractors are important partners of Novatech, and strengthening occupational safety and health in the workplace is a very important part of Novatech's management of contractors. In 2022, our contractors entered the customer's plant areas for 31,196 person-times, which is equivalent to 249,568 working hours, and it is a matter of great importance for us to implement and strengthen the safety awareness of our contractors.
Through experts with expertise in occupational safety and health, we have developed a "Safety and Discipline Commitment" which states that if a contractor reports occupational hazards and hazardous conditions, or leaves a hazardous site on their own in a hazardous situation, they will be exempt from disciplinary action to protect the safety of the contractor. In addition, we have also established the "Contractor Safety Inspection and Assessment Management Procedures", through which the project industrial safety personnel require the contractors to comply with the regulations and customer plant rules by the procedure manual, to inspect andcheck the safety protection of contractors from time to time and ask for improvement immediately when deficiencies are found, so as to effectively ensure the safety of contractors' practitioners and reduce the lack of owners' audits. In 2022, there
were a total of 75 industrial safety defects issued and 10 owner's fined, and no work safety incidents occurred during the execution of our projects by contractors.





Health checks and health promotion activities

We value the health status of our employees and are committed to creating a safe and healthy quality and culture. In order to remind employees to pay
attention to their health status, Novatech has established the "Labor Health Protection and Occupational Disease Prevention Management Procedures". We hold regular health check-ups at least once a year to protect the health of our employees. We hold regular health check-ups at least once a year to protect the health of our employees. Starting in 2020, Novatech implemented a clinic, staffed by visiting doctors and nurses, and continues to actively care for the health of its employees through health education e-mail and health promotion seminars.We were thus awarded the Healthy Workplace Health Promotion Mark in 2020,which continued to be in effect in 2021, and our application for the extension of the Healthy Workplace Health Promotion Mark in 2022 has been approved. In addition, we are a licensed company for Healthy Enterprise Citizenship of Cigna Life Insurance in 2022, and we are publicly licensed to continue to promote the implementation of medical on-site services to protect the physical and mental health of our employees.
In order to emphasize Novatech's commitment to employee health, the company proposed an increase in the subsidy for employee health checkups at the 2022 labor-management meeting. The subsidy per person has been raised from NT$300 to a range of NT$2,000 to NT$6,000 per person, with general employees receiving NT$2,000, supervisory-level employees receiving NT$3,000 , and managerial-level employees and above receiving NT$6,000. This significant increase in the total investment, from NT$40,200 to NT$374,490, aims to encourage employees to actively participate in health checkups and enhance the overall well-being of our workforce.

 

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Novatech actively plans a complete Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to ensure that our employees are cared for and assisted in their work environment and have a channel to express their opinions, solve problems and deal with possible labor-related disputes or risks.
The Company has developed a series of physical and mental health programs, including mental health, stress management, emotion management, etc. In 2022, the company invested NT$26,000 in physical and mental health programs to help 28 employees improve their health habits and prevent health conditions. At the same time, Novatech also provides professional counseling services, including psychological counseling, health counseling, workplace stress counseling, etc. Employees have access to confidential and supportive counseling services. Employees can have face-to-face counseling with counselors in a confidential and supportive environment to explore the difficulties and challenges they may encounter in their personal and professional lives, and receive professional advice and support. In 2022, the Company invested NT$138,000 to provide 42 employees as well as contractors with a total of 16.8 hours of counseling services (an average of 2.5 people per hour). On this basis, the Company will consider further enhancing its corporate commitment to its employees in the coming year by strengthening its special corporate welfare measures and planning to implement and provide more benefits, welfare payments, welfare programs, or other additional welfare measures to motivate and protect the rights and interests of its employees.


Occupational Safety and Health Education and Training

To reduce the incidence of occupational hazards, Novatech implements rigorous education and training in accordance with the "Occupational Safety and Health Education and Training Rules". In 2022, the per capita number of hours of training in environment, safety and health-related courses reached 11.13 hours/person.


Covid-19 staff care practices

In 2022, the Covid-19 pandemic continued to rage globally, impacting the world significantly. To address this impact, Novatech not only complied with government pandemic prevention regulations but also proactively implemented internal pandemic prevention measures. We formed a pandemic prevention and response team, created a pandemic prevention response team "Prevention Handbook", and developed an "Emergency Response Plan for Corona Virus Disease" to provide employees with comprehensive information. We adjusted epidemic prevention measures promptly, assisting our colleagues in participating in epidemic prevention efforts positively and ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the continuous operation of the company.
