3-1 Sustainable Environmental Management
Climate change has become a global issue of common concern, and it has had a significant impact on the environment and society. Extreme weather and natural disasters brought about by climate change have caused serious challenges to the survival and development of mankind. In January 2023, the World Economic Forum (WEF) released the Global Risks Report 2023, which points out that climate and environment-related accounted for 5 of the top 10 risks faced by the world in the next two years; climate and environment-related accounted for 6 of the top 10 risks faced in the next 10 years, indicating that enterprises need to take immediate action to deal with climate and environment-related shocks. Novatech has already established a sustainable
environmental management policy and taken concrete actions. In addition to our commitment to reducing any potential adverse environmental impacts from our operations, we are also prepared to address potential climate risks that may arise in the future.
Environmental Management
Novatech understands that environmental management system is the basis for achieving the goal of sustainable business operation, and we have introduced third-party certifications to confirm that our management methods meet international standards. In 2006, we introduced the ISO 14001 environmental management system, followed up with the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system to gradually strengthen the foundation of sustainable environmental management in our operations and products. At the same time, with the global trend of scientific carbon management, Novatech has introduced ISO 14064-1:2018 greenhouse gas inventory in 2021, expecting to gradually improve the company's carbon reduction capability through scientific management. In addition to introduction of ISO certification to strengthen our own sustainability management, we are also committed to extending environmental management to the value chain and further linking partners in the value chain for environmental management. Novatech not only provides high-quality customized environmental protection engineering equipment in terms of hardware, but also continues to share new knowledge about the environment, safety, sanitation, and health with third parties in terms of service, so as to fulfill the company's responsibility for the sustainable development of the environment.
Environmental Declarations and Management
Novatech actively responded to external initiatives and implement practical actions related to environmental issues. In addition to participating in the "Earth Hour" event in 2022, it also implemented "office energy saving", "Low-carbon vegetarian", "Green Office appliances procurement" and "Office greening" to integrate energy saving and carbon reduction into its own operations.
In order to fully implement the above-mentioned energy-saving and carbon-reducing activities, Novatech has formulated the "Novatech Energy Saving and Carbon Reduction Code of Practice", which includes standards for energy conservation, water conservation, administrative waste reduction, resource classification, comprehensive environmental management, employee education and environmental awareness promotion.
Novatech has also set medium and long-term environmental management targets up to 2025, with a view to gradually reducing the environmental impacts of its operations, while continuing to move towards a sustainable transformation of the business.
