Water Management
Novatech attaches great importance to the protection of water resources. To achieve corporate sustainability, the Company has taken the initiative in calculating water consumption since 2017. Water for offices and branches is directly and solely supplied by the Taiwan Water Corporation. The office's water consumption is managed by the building. Water consumption in construction sites was 897 liters in 2019, a 0.45% increase from 2018. To cut down more on water consumption, we continue posting and publicizing water conservation slogans, inspecting leakages from toilet tanks and other pipelines for immediate repair, and purchasing water-saving faucets; in addition, information about water conservation is communicated via email and meetings from time to time to emphasize that every employee should preserve the Earth's resources.

Waste Management
The Company has established complete regulations and operating procedures for waste management, including the "Waste Management Process" formulated in accordance with the "Waste Disposal Act" in 2018. According to the "Waste Management Process," project officers and the ISEP Dept. are responsible for drawing up the procedures for storing and removing waste by proper category; then, contractors are responsible for disposing of construction waste outside of the construction sites according to law; moreover, we visit hazardous waste disposal service providers on a regular basis to ensure that their waste disposal practices comply with relevant environmental laws and regulations. At Novatech, environmental risk always comes first. We dispose of waste with caution in order to minimize water, air and soil pollution in conformity with environmental laws and regulations. Due to our industrial characteristics and scope of business, we entrust all construction waste to contractors and proprietors for disposal according to law. Therefore, the sources of waste mainly come from domestic waste and kitchen waste in the office, which are collectively disposed of and managed by the building. The Company's waste emissions are based on the annual volume of general domestic waste disposed of by the office building administration multiplied by the proportion of the Company's office to the building. In 2019, the volume of domestic waste generated by the Company reached 1.83 metric tons. We will continue strengthening the classification of waste in offices and branches and inspecting waste disposal on a regular basis to avoid secondary pollution caused by improper handling or negligence of suppliers.
